Iad Alhallak, a member of Drs. Rosie and Frank Simmen’s research team at the Department of Physiology and Cell Biology since 2019, received the Faculty Key Award in this year’s College of Medicine Honors Convocation. The honor is awarded to a graduating senior medical student who, in the opinion of the full-time faculty, is the single most outstanding student for the full four-year period of study. Criteria include scholarship, inquiry, initiative, leadership, ethical standards, and other personal qualifications. Dr. Alhallak will start his residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas at Houston beginning this June.
