Congratulations to Dr. Aric Anloague, Ph.D.!
Dr. Anloague, from Dr. Jesus Delgado-Calle’s lab, successfully defended his dissertation, “Local Crosstalk Between Osteocytes and Multiple Myeloma Cells Drives Tumor Growth and Bone Destruction” on June 26th, 2026. He will leave UAMS on July 17th to join Dr. Megan Weivoda’s lab at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN as a postdoctoral fellow. There, he will continue research in multiple myeloma. We wish Dr. Anloague every success as he takes this next exciting step in his career.

Bagchi Lab shines again at the 2026 American Physiology Summit!
Somaya Ibrahim represented the Bagchi Lab at the annual American Physiology Summit held in Minneapolis last month. Two highly competitive abstracts were submitted for the meeting from very divergent projects. Somaya earned four oral presentations and two poster presentations from these. 2025 – 2026 Graduates
On Thursday, May 14, 2026, UAMS Graduate School honored all the 2025-2026 Graduating Students and the UAMS Graduate Faculty Aric Anloague from Dr. Delgado Calle Lab and Maddy Carrol from Dr. Neha Dole’s Lab Graduated. We want to congratulate those two and wish them nothing but success in their future endeavors.

2026 Student Research Day Bhuvan award winners!
Congratulations to Anisha Neupane for placing third in the Bhuvan Award for Excellence in Biochemistry Graduate Research at the 2026 UAMS Student Research Day. Her poster presented new findings from the Allen Laboratory on the signaling events of toll-like receptor 8 (TLR8). She received a cash prize of $250!
Kyrilos Sadaka wins People’s Choice Award at 3MT semi-finals!
Kyrilos Sadaka, formerly a summer student and currently an M1 student in Dr. Bagchi’s lab won the popular People’s Choice Award at the 3MT semi-finals on March 3rd. Deck The Doors
The admin team wanted to have some holiday fun for the Holidays. We did a “Deck the Doors” contest. Each lab had to decorate their doors in creative fun ways. We also provided lunch for the department. We wanted to show them how much we appreciate them and all their hard work.
