Congratulations to Our Department-Affiliated UAMS Medical Students Matching to Residencies!

Caitlin Caperton, Ph.D., matched into a Psychiatry Residency Program here at UAMS. Caitlin completed her doctoral degree (M.D./Ph.D. Program) in 2021 under the co-mentorship of Departmental faculty Dr. Amy Franco (now at U Penn) and Dr. Jerry Ware. Her doctoral work is published in the journal Cancers (Caperton CO, Jolly LA, Massoll N, Bauer AJ, Franco AT. Development of Novel Follicular Thyroid Cancer Models Which Progress to Poorly Differentiated and Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer. Cancers (Basel). 2021 Mar 4;13(5):1094).

Garrett Graham matched into an Emergency Medicine Program at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center-Memphis. Garrett completed a summer internship as a rising M2 in Dr. Rosie Simmen’s research program and is a co-author on a recently published manuscript from her group (Alhallak I, Quick CM, Graham GL, Simmen RCM. A Pilot Study on the Co-existence of Diabetes and Endometriosis in Reproductive-Age Women: Potential for Endometriosis Progression. Reprod Sci. doi.1007/s43032-023-01190-3).
