Congratulations to Aime Franco who completed her first Ironman 70.3 race August 26th in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. Dr. Franco started going 1/2 marathons and triathlons three years ago to get in better shape. After completing a couple short distance triathlon races around Arkansas, Aime decided to try a long distance race. Dr. Franco grew up in Connecticut, and has family all over New England, so traveling to Maine for the race was a bit of a homecoming. The Ironman 70.3 race consisted of a 1.2 mile swim in the Atlantic, luckily with no Great White Shark sightings. The 56 mile bike ride was through lots of farmland in Southern Maine, and then a 13.1 mile run through Old Orchard Beach and the surround towns, ending at the finish in the center of Old Orchard Beach!
