Physiology and Cell Biology Research Workshop and Journal Club
Held on Tuesdays
Noon – 1:00 p.m.
Biomedical Building I, Rm 205/207
This Research Workshop provides a forum for graduate students and post-doctoral fellows to practice their presentation skills as well as obtain feedback on their research projects from trainees and faculty. The Workshop also provides an opportunity for faculty to present ideas and get feedback for upcoming grant submissions. The Journal Club provides an opportunity for students to present a paper. The Physiology and Cell Biology Journal Club provides an enriching environment for researchers of every career stage to present, teach, and collaborate/network with one another. Students, postdoctoral fellows, staff scientists, and faculty within the Physiology and Cell Biology Department participate in presenting critical reviews of recently published scientific literature with active discussions.
All students associated with the Cell Biology and Physiology Track (Graduate Program in Interdisciplinary Biomedical Sciences, UAMS) and who have passed their candidacy exam are required to present their research annually (one per academic year). Postdoctoral fellows and staff scientists who are conducting full-time research with departmental faculty are also required to present in the Research Workshop. Faculty who wish to present can schedule for an open date.
