Welcome to the website of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) in the College of Medicine at UAMS! Here you will find a wealth of information about our philosophy, our facilities, and our wonderful faculty, staff and residents.
Established in 1984, the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is a great place to work and a great place to learn. If you are considering doing your residency training or a student rotation here, you will find that we have experienced, dedicated faculty, helpful, hard-working staff, and a great assembly of interested and interesting resident physicians from various backgrounds.
We are a strong program of intermediate size, with a favorable faculty to resident ratio. Our clinical facilities are excellent and will provide you with well-balanced clinical training.
Our residents have gone on to pass certification examinations and start successful practices in a variety of settings throughout the South, West, and Midwest.
Seeing the direction of healthcare in general and PM&R in particular, we are making the necessary changes to place greater emphasis on outpatient physical medicine and rehabilitation care and on research. Our emphasis on the delivery of high quality, state of the art care with compassion will never change.
Enjoy your browsing.
Sincerely,
Kevin M. Means, M.D.
