Since its establishment in 1879, the College of Medicine is proud of its long and progressive history of teaching, service and research. Each era ushered in new challenges and made room for growth as the College climbed toward academic excellence and national recognition. Many themes are remembered from the past 130 formative years. These benchmark events had a profound impact on the school and marked the College of Medicine as a leading institution.
