Betty Ann Lowe, M.D.
Dr. Lowe was an instructor at Harvard Medical School prior to becoming the Medical Director of Arkansas Children’s Hospital in 1977. She was Professor of Pediatrics and Associate Dean for Children’s Affairs of the UAMS College of Medicine. Dr. Lowe was awarded the UAMS Chancellor’s Award for distinguished achievements in science and medicine and the Golden Apple teaching award by her students. She served as the Harvey and Bernice Jones Distinguished Chair in Pediatrics and was the first female chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
