Overview
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences offers a one-year fellowship in Dermatopathology. We interpret more than 15,000 skin specimens per year, including cases from the UAMS Medical Center, John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital, Arkansas Children’s Hospital and outside consultation cases from around the country. Housed in the Department of Pathology, the program works closely with the Department of Dermatology which allows our fellows to participate in Dermatology clinics and conferences. The Dermatopathology service performs a wide range of special stains, immunohistochemical stains, and molecular techniques, as well as direct immunofluorescence.
