When and where will be the ARS be held?
We will host the sixth research symposium on May 8, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The physical location will be in the Cancer Institute on the 10th floor.
Who is allowed to participate?
We encourage all medical students, residents, and fellows to use this wonderful opportunity to showcase their original research, quality improvement projects, and interesting clinical cases.
When and where can I submit? When do I find out if I got accepted?
Immediately! Please visit the submission form to fill out your form, and submit your abstract. The deadline for submission will be March 8, 2024 by 11:59 p.m. Please read the guidelines carefully before submitting. Exceptional research will be selected for a 10 minute oral presentation. For those who are not required (please see below)* to participate in the ARS, if you choose, you may opt out of the oral presentation. You will be notified of your acceptance by March 29, 2024.
Can I present more than one abstract?
Absolutely! Please note, at most only one of your abstracts will be selected for oral presentation.
Will there be awards?
Yes! There will be an award for best original research, best quality improvement project, and best clinical case.
Can I put this on my CV?
Absolutely!
Who will be required to participate?
Any graduating resident who has not previously presented their quality improvement project is required to present their progress. These residents cannot opt out of the oral presentation; we will notify you whether your QI project has been chose to be presented orally or on a poster.
What if I already presented my quality improvement project in a different conference?
Please email Morgan Tripod (METripod@uams.edu) your poster, the name, and date of the conference you attended.
