Favorite thing about living in Little Rock: Being so close to our wonderful trails, rivers, and lakes but also having the amenities of a bigger city.

Favorite thing about UAMS Med-Peds: Besides the people, my favorite things about the UAMS Med Peds program is the vast exposure to pathologies and patient populations in both adult and pediatric populations and in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
What do you want to do with your life? My ideal future employment would be a mixture of inpatient and outpatient settings in a rural area of Arkansas.

Favorite thing about living in Little Rock: Quick and easy access to outdoor activities – hiking Pinnacle Mountain, local biking trails, floating the Buffalo River, several nearby lakes

When I study medicine, I most enjoying learning about: The pathophysiology of diseases. It allows me to better understand symptoms that patients may experience, and how best to treat each part of a disease process.
Things that make me unique are: My kindness, my love for people from all different backgrounds, my passion for sustainable global health, and my ability to listen to all of a patient’s complaints.
I’m not only a doctor, I also like to: Hike, row, try to cook new recipes, read, and enjoy a good TV series
To get myself motivated I think of: All of the incredible people I get to work with and meet each day and all of the stories they have to tell.

Favorite thing about UAMS Med-Peds: Feels like we are a little specialty team, yet we get to have good connections with the medicine and peds people. We also get to kinda double dip into the good things from each categorical program, but avoid some of the more annoying things. Our program faculty are grade A, and I think our residents themselves are some of the best to work with on either side.
What do you want to do with your life? Primary Care 50/50 adults/kids
If you weren’t a doctor, what would you be? Hopefully a professional Cyclist, or coffee shop owner, or maybe just a trophy husband

Favorite thing about UAMS Med-Peds: My favorite thing about UAMS Med-Peds program is the strong sense of community and supportive environment from not only our program but from both pediatrics and Internal medicine. I enjoy our monthly journal clubs where we can talk about interesting topics as well as socialize with one another. I also enjoy our switch parties when we switch from medicine to pediatrics or vice-versa.
What do you want to do with your life? I would like to work in a primary care clinic.
If you weren’t a doctor, what would you be? Either a contractor or a high school track coach who taught biology.
Favorite thing about living in Little Rock: I love all the outdoor activities the city has to offer rather it is cycling, running, or going to hike a Pinnacle Mountain.

There as so many brilliant people who care about their patients and love to teach. I also love the variety of pathology we get to see due to UAMS being the largest hospital in the state and ACH being the only children’s hospital.

Favorite thing about UAMS Med-Peds: My favorite thing about UAMS Med Peds are the people. The people here genuinely care about you as an individual, but will also push you and hold you accountable to high standard.
What do you want to do with your life? I want to make a positive impact on my community. Whether it be through church, medicine, or public health. I hope to leave a positive and meaningful impact on the community I am in.
If you weren’t a doctor, what would you be? If I wasn’t a doctor I would want to be a professional golfer. Winning tournaments with Landon Bruich (IM resident) and beating Tyler Heart (IM resident) by even more strokes than I already do would be a dream. However, if I am being realistic I would probably be an engineer since that was my major in college.
Favorite thing about living in Little Rock: My favorite thing about living in Little Rock is the sense of community it provides. From everyone cheering on the Razorbacks to the local community festivals there is always something that brings people together.
Favorite show to binge watch/favorite book: I love to binge watch The Office or Brooklyn 99. Right now my wife and I’s favorite TV show is Only Murders in the Building. My favorite book is “When Breath Becomes Air”, but my favorite book series is the Red Rising series.
