Business Certificate for Resident and Fellow Physicians

Starting in July 2025, in partnership with the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas, this 12-month, online, self-paced program is designed for upper-level residents and fellow physicians seeking to acquire critical business skills and knowledge to effectively navigate the complex healthcare landscape.

Designed to accommodate the demanding schedules of medical professionals.

Taught by esteemed faculty members from the Sam M. Walton College of Business, in close collaboration with the College of Medicine to provide key interdisciplinary insights and perspectives.

Career Advancement

Successful completion of the program results in a certificate issued by Walton College Executive Education and a LinkedIn Digital Badge, and the option to earn credit hours towards a future Executive MBA at Walton College.

Program Outcome

We aim to produce better prepared, well-rounded healthcare leaders who appreciate and understand the business of healthcare and can drive positive change in their organizations and communities.

Who is Eligible?

The program is open to senior medical and surgical residents and fellows at UAMS who are in good standing and will be in their PGY-3 or higher year at the start of the of the program.

The program is limited to 15 participants as a pilot, and each participant’s involvement will be fully funded.
