Graduate School: University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences – College of Nursing
Biography: Born and raised in Central Arkansas, Lauren has always found UAMS home. This started with her grandfather, Tip C. Nelms, who served as the founding dean of the UAMS College of Health Professions. Lauren is ANCC certified and has over 11 years of nursing experience including post-partum and interventional pain care. Beginning in 2008, Lauren began working for the UAMS Interventional Pain Clinic and helped launch the T. Glenn Pait Spine Clinic in the Stephen Spine and Neuroscience Institute where she transitioned to the roll of charge nurse in 2010. After finishing a Masters of Nursing Science at UAMS in 2014, she happily returned to her home in the UAMS Interventional Pain Clinic. There she finds joy in seeing the improvement of pain with minimally invasive techniques provided by her and the highly skilled collaborating physicians that adjoin her in the growing UAMS Interventional Pain Clinic.
