Leading the State in Emergency Medicine
We are a busy Level I trauma facility that treats nearly 60,000 children each year. Our emergency department has 30 private exam rooms, four trauma/resuscitation bays, and specially equipped orthopedic, CMS/obstetric/gynecologic, and psychiatric rooms. The department is staffed with 24-hour pediatric emergency medicine (PEM) coverage and full access to all pediatric subspecialties. The ER faculty consists of one professor emeritus, 10 professors, six associate professors, 16 assistant professors, and six advanced nurse practitioners. Currently, nine pediatric emergency medicine fellows train in our fellowship program. With upgraded facilities and dedicated nursing and ED staff, our physicians are equipped and ready to handle the range of patient acuity we routinely see. From home, from their practitioner’s office, and from referring hospitals all over the state and region, patients present to our department expecting and receiving a standard of excellence that has earned our hospital national acclaim.
