Our PGY-2 through PGY-4 residents (except when on a VA rotation) cover overnight call at Baptist Rehabilitation Institute (BRI). A resident call room is provided, outfitted with a bed, couch, television, computer, table and lockers.
We adhere to the ACGME Core Program Requirement VI.F.7. that residents will have “in-house call no more frequently than every third night (when averaged over a four-week period).” Chief Residents are responsible for creating the resident call schedule, and release the schedule in three-month blocks. Our residents have agreed on a point system to ensure call is fairly assigned to residents.
