Dr. McLawhorn is a native Arkansan, originally from Sherwood. He attended Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas, where he graduated cum laude and with distinction in Biology. He then attended The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and graduated with the Joseph T. Roberts Key for the highest grade point average in his medical school class. He completed his internal medicine internship and dermatology residency at The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City. He went on to complete his Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Dr. McLawhorn is board certified in general dermatology, fellowship trained and board certified in micrographic surgery/dermatologic oncology. He practices general dermatology and performs Mohs micrographic surgery to treat skin cancers. His professional interests include dermatologic oncology, cosmetic dermatology and general medical dermatology. His professional memberships include the American Academy of Dermatology, the American College of Mohs Surgeons, the American Medical Association and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
In his spare time, Dr. McLawhorn enjoys tinkering on cars, landscaping, painting, drawing and spending time with his family.
