Mission
The UAMS Emergency Medicine Residency Program is dedicated to training physicians who deliver timely, compassionate, and equitable emergency care to the people of Arkansas and beyond. Our residents care for some of the sickest and most vulnerable patients in the state, gaining comprehensive exposure across the full breadth of emergency medicine.
Guided by the values of authenticity, compassion, perseverance, curiosity, community, and excellence, we cultivate a learning environment grounded in shared responsibility, purposeful development, and meaningful engagement in departmental and institutional initiatives. Our mission is to graduate physicians who are clinically outstanding, reflective in their practice, and well prepared to meet the evolving demands of emergency medicine in any practice setting.
