General Requirements of All Applicants
- Only applications received through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS) will be considered, with no exceptions.
- Completed applications (including all required documents) must be submitted each year for full consideration of entry into the program on July 1st of the following year.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Letters of recommendation must be submitted from the author, must be dated, and must not be more than two years old.
- Our program begins in the PGY-2 year. Every applicant must successfully complete a clinical PGY-1 year with at least 11 months of direct patient care in the inpatient or outpatient setting at an ACGME-accredited program within the United States before entering our program.
- Every applicant without a PGY-1 experience as noted above needs to apply simultaneously for a transitional or preliminary year residency program.
- Your applications must include curriculum vitae, 3 letters of recommendation, a transcript, dean’s letters, USMLE test scores or COMLEX scores, and a personal statement.
- You must have successfully completed Step 1 and Step 2 CK and CS.
- Although we do not have set minimum USMLE requirements, the overall score and the number of attempts needed to pass each step will be taken into consideration.
- Your applications must include curriculum vitae, 3 letters of recommendation, a transcript, dean’s letters, USMLE test scores or COMLEX scores, and a personal statement.
- You must have successfully completed Step 1 and Step 2 CK and CS.
- Although we do not have set minimum USMLE requirements, the overall score and the number of attempts needed to pass each step will be taken into consideration.
Graduates of Foreign Medical Schools
- You must apply through ERAS. No emailed or faxed applications will be accepted, with no exceptions.
- You must be ECFMG certified at the time of application and possess a valid certificate.
- Your application must include curriculum vitae, three letters of recommendation, a medical school transcript, dean’s letters, USMLE test scores or COMLEX scores, and a personal statement.
- You must have successfully completed the USMLE Step 1, USMLE Step 2 CK, and the USMLE Step 2 CS exams. If beginning in the PGY-2 year, USMLE Step III score report
- Although we do not have set minimum USMLE requirements, the overall score and the number of attempts needed to pass each step will be taken into consideration.
- Applicants who graduated more than 3 years ago are rarely considered for an interview unless they have been actively practicing medicine (not observerships or research) and are fully licensed.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Complete one year of clinical training (PGY-1) in an ACGME-accredited clinical year (12 months) with a minimum of 11 months of direct patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- If you are a medical student applying for our program at the PGY-2 year, you must simultaneously apply for a transitional or preliminary year residency program. This required clinical year can be completed in any ACGME accredited program.
- Foreign medical graduates must present a valid certificate from the Educational Council on Foreign Medical Graduates and a certificate of successful completion of the USMLE exams.
