Arkansas Department of Health
Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) is the state public health agency for Arkansas. ADH is a centralized state health department with at least one local health unit in each of Arkansas’s 75 counties. ADH is also one of the 15 executive branches of the state government, with the Secretary of Health providing leadership to its close to 3000 public health employees, and reporting to the Governor of Arkansas. ADH offers a broad range of public health and clinical preventive services to over 165,000 Arkansas residents every year. The services includes but not limited to prenatal care, women infant and children (WIC) program, family planning, sexually transmitted disease testing, chronic disease, human papilloma virus (HIV) treatment services through Ryan-White program, tuberculosis testing and treatment services, immunization, and health education and promotion services. The preventive medicine residents are exposed to wide range of public health programs and services through their block rotations in outbreak response, one health, chronic disease, emergency preparedness, maternal health, immunization, tuberculosis, and variety of local public health services. The overall goal of the rotations at ADH is for the resident to acquire the ability to function effectively as a public health physician and to gain a thorough understanding of the role and activities of the state and local health departments.
UAMS COM Department of Family and Preventive Medicine
The Family Medical Center (FMC), located on the UAMS campus, serves as one of the clinical training sites for the Preventive Medicine residents. It was the first clinic in Arkansas to be NCQA-certified as a Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH). The FMC combines excellent clinical facilities with space for conferences and individual study. Computer workstations are present in each patient room to access the electronic medical record. Access to the Internet, Ovid and other clinical decision making software programs are available to residents over our computer network.
UAMS College of Public Health
The Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health includes the shared missions of: Meeting the public health workforce needs for the future and demonstrating how public health approaches can address the health needs of Arkansans via model community programs. The College emphasizes community-based public health by working with communities and organizations in all phases of health promotion and disease prevention in partnerships with health care scientists in other disciplines, public health practitioners, government agencies, and community-based organizations. This diverse spectrum of collaboration allows us in the College to have an impact on the quality of life for families and communities in Arkansas.

Conservative Care Occupational Health was established in 1996 to serve the occupational health and wellness needs of area businesses and industries. Conservative Care Occupational Health utilizes specialists trained in the field of occupational medicine.
