What is your hometown?
I was born and grew up in Mumbai (Bombay), the economic capital of India.
Where did you attend medical school?
I attended medical college at Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences University, Karad, Maharashtra, India.
What other educational credentials do you have?
M.S. General Surgery, Bharti Vidyapeeth Medical College, Pune, India
What are your particular clinical interests?
I am very passionate about doing procedures, since I love working with my hands. I am also very interested in preventive medicine and believe that early interventions and a healthy lifestyle can help prevent many diseases and delay progression of some others. A sound mind and body are essential, and I am grateful to have the chance to help my patients on their journey to becoming healthy and happy.
Why did you choose Family Medicine?
I chose Family Medicine because it provides me with the diversity to practice in many clinical settings ranging from procedure heavy clinics, ED, urgent care, primary care clinic, the hospital setting, women’s health, etc. Family Medicine is the perfect base for me to mold my career. I also enjoy interacting with my patients and building lasting relationships with them.
Why did you choose the Little Rock Family Medicine residency program?
UAMS is an academic program that gives me an opportunity to train in the university setting. This, combined with one of the most robust board pass rates I had seen, as well as the Program Director’s interest in procedures, made it the top choice for me. Another reason I chose this program is the caring and passionate faculty members and staff and the camaraderie between the residents.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of medicine?
I have many interests outside of medicine. My husband and I love to travel and explore new places, cultures and food! I love spending time with family and friends. I also love to read, do calligraphy, doodle art, crafting, drawing, painting, writing, etc. I also enjoy performing Kathak, a form of Indian classical dance and Bollywood as well. I have discovered a new found love for cooking and baking. I also enjoy doing yoga, meditation, and taking walks amongst nature.
