College of Health Sciences at the University of Carabobo in Valencia, Venezuela
What are your particular clinical interests?
I am deeply interested in providing preventive care for low health literacy groups and underserved populations, including the LGBTQIA+ community and the Hispanic community. After residency I want to focus my career on providing medical care access for minority groups.
Why did you choose Family Medicine?
Coming from a background in rural medicine, I have witnessed how preventive care can dramatically improve health outcomes and possibly increase lifespan. Practicing Family Medicine allows me provide medical care and evidence-based knowledge to my patients empowering them to make health choices that lead to a better quality of life for themselves, their families and their communities.
Why did you choose the Little Rock Family Medicine residency program?
I chose this program not only due to its exceptional faculty and diverse training environment which takes place in the three main academic hospitals of central Arkansas, but also because every person I came across during the interview process was incredibly welcoming and made me feel at home since day one.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of medicine?
Another passion of mine is learning about other cultures and gastronomies which has led me to visit over 20 countries. I look forward to continue to explore many more.
