What are your particular clinical interests?
I have broad interests in the field of Family Medicine. I am interested in preventive medicine, chronic disease management, and women’s health. I am also very passionate about community medicine and serving underserved populations.
Why did you choose Family Medicine?
During medical school, I became interested in multiple aspects of medicine, from patient education, performing procedures, and deliveries, to emergency medicine. I found that Family Medicine rotations incorporated all of my interests. Family Medicine, to me, is unique in the aspect we have the opportunity to take care of all medical needs of the patient while educating them about better health and lifestyle. I love that I can form this long lasting, meaningful relationship with the patients. I believe that Family Medicine training will provide me with a wide variety of skill sets that will help me take care of my future patients and help them achieve their health goals.
Why did you choose the Little Rock Family Medicine residency program?
I chose UAMS Little Rock Family Medicine primarily for the excellent educational training, curriculum, and opportunities for clinical research. The UAMS Little Rock Family Medicine program provides vast expertise and knowledge and a wealth of medical training across all specialties, which attracted me. Everyone in the program is very friendly and focused on helping you learn and grow. I found a very positive environment during my interview. I also love that the program emphasizes resident wellness and provides opportunities for residents to participate in teaching, research, and publications. I chose UAMS Little Rock because I wanted a program that would make me a well-rounded physician, and I believe Little Rock is the perfect place.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of medicine?
I enjoy hiking, and traveling to lakes and mountains. In my spare time, I like to spend time with family and friends. I love to try new cuisines, and I also enjoy cooking.
