My goal is to practice full spectrum Family Medicine with a focus on maternal and child health in an underserved area. In addition, I am interested in preventive medicine and want to focus on educating patients on healthy living to manage their chronic health ailments.
Why did you choose Family Medicine?
In Family Medicine, I see an immense opportunity to significantly improve a patient’s physical and mental well-being, thereby enhancing the community we live in. I like advocating for my patient’s health to ensure each patient receives the best health care possible. I believe this is one of the best ways to give back to the community.
With my interest in women’s health, choosing Family Medicine opens the opportunity to care for the babies I deliver and take care of the entire family. As a family physician I value the trust and long-lasting relationship that I can build with my patients which is very appealing to me. I consider myself to be a people person and I genuinely care about helping people, so Family Medicine is the best suited specialty for me. I also love the fact that I can do “a bit of everything.”
Why did you choose the Little Rock Family Medicine residency program?
My interview day experience was exhilarating, and I felt very welcomed. Everyone I spoke to were both personable and supportive, I felt that I fit in very well. UAMS Little Rock was my top choice for residency. I believe that UAMS Little Rock with its strong clinical, educational, and research curriculum will make me a well-rounded family physician and will give me the confidence to work in any clinical setting. Coming from a family of doctors, pursuing my residency at an institution like UAMS Little Rock is more than a career for me – it is part of my family’s legacy.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of medicine?
I love travelling with my husband and son – to explore history, culture and especially food. I’ve travelled to 13 countries around the world. At some point of time, I would like to visit all 7 continents. It was great to experience cultures in various countries, and I would love to go back to visit them. I am an avid food lover, and I enjoy cooking with different cuisines and trying out new recipes. In my leisure time, I like to play table tennis. I also like to keep learning – currently I’m learning to do crochet and swimming.
