Thank you for considering a gift to help make a positive impact on Graduate Medical Education at UAMS! The final hurdle of training to become a physician is known as Graduate Medical Education (GME), and can take anywhere from 3 to 7 or more years depending on the specialty. This period of education is intense and requires an enormous commitment from trainees who are honing their skills to prepare them for independent practice.
At UAMS, we provide more than 69 ACGME-accredited programs educating about 750 physician trainees in any given year. As the key educator of physicians supplying the state healthcare workforce in Arkansas, UAMS is always striving to develop and sustain resources and opportunities to improve training experiences for UAMS residents and fellows. Your gift can help make a difference!
Our mission in GME at UAMS is to improve the health and health care of Arkansans by providing residents and fellows an educational experience that results in physicians who are competent to practice safely, independently and confidently. Our passion is to provide training that prepares our physicians to care for your family and the citizens of Arkansas.
