In order to be entered as a participating site in the ACGME Accreditation Data System (ADS), the individual rotation site must routinely provide an educational experience, required for all residents of one-month full time equivalent (FTE) or more. Before proceeding, please verify that your requested participating site is not part of our Sponsoring Institution’s list of participating sites in the ACGME ADS. Email askGME@uams.edu for assistance.
For the addition of a new participating site, approval from the COM GMEC is needed. Please review list of documents and information needed for submission of this request and then complete the online form as the first step in this process. The GME Accreditation Manager will contact you for next steps.
Documents and information needed for submission:
- A signed Program Letter of Agreement between program and participating site
- An affiliation agreement, as appropriate, if money is being exchanged between institutions or if the rotation is part of the Baptist Health system.
- Email Confirmation of Funding for Rotation
- DIO Approval for Rotation
Definitions
Participating Site Definition: An organization providing educational experiences or educational assignments/rotations for residents/fellows. A wide variety of organizations may provide a robust educational experience and, thus, participating sites may encompass inpatient and outpatient settings including, but not limited to a university, a medical school, a teaching hospital, a nursing home, a school of public health, a health department, a public health agency, an organized health care delivery system, a medical examiner’s office, an educational consortium, a teaching health center, a physician group practice, federally qualified health center, or an educational foundation.
Clinical Site: There may be a need to indicate a site as “clinical” in rare occasions. A clinical site exists when the sponsor of a program is in a different site (location) than the PRIMARY clinical site out of which the program operates.
Primary Site Visit Location: denotes the participating site that is the geographic location where ACGME would conduct an in-person site visit of the Sponsoring Institution.
