Applicant Guide and Catalog

Thank you for your interest in the UAMS College of Medicine. We select students on the basis of academic achievements, character, maturity, and motivation. We evaluate the applicant’s entire academic record, performance on the MCAT, college premedical advisory committee evaluations, letters of recommendation, and a personal interview.

Admissions Timeline for 2025 Applicants

May 28, 2024

Applicants may begin to submit their AMCAS web-application to AAMC.

August 15, 2024

Arkansas residents may begin calling to schedule their faculty interview. Applicants must certify and submit the AMCAS application before scheduling an interview.

November 1, 2024

Final deadline for all applicants to submit AMCAS web-application to AMCAS.

Last day for Arkansas residents to call UAMS to schedule faculty interviews.

November 15, 2024

Deadline for all applicants to submit the UAMS COM Supplemental Application. Non-Arkansas residents with strong ties to Arkansas must submit a letter to UAMS advocating strong ties.

December 13, 2024

Admissions Committee meets to determine which non-Arkansas residents will be invited to be interviewed in January and reviewed in February.

December 19, 2024

Arkansas resident applicants approved for early acceptance for admission are notified.

January 15, 2025

ALL application documentation must be received at UAMS for ALL applicants.

January 23, 2025

Arkansas resident applicants approved for early acceptance are notified.

By February 28, 2025

Letters mailed to all applicants informing them of their admissions status: Accepted, Alternate List or Not Accepted.

 

Faculty Interviews

Arkansas Residents

Arkansas residents must be interviewed by members of the UAMS faculty. It is your responsibility to call the Office of Admissions to schedule your faculty interview after you have certified and submitted your AMCAS application. You may begin calling August 15, but you must call no later than November 1, 2024 to schedule your interview.

Non-Arkansas Residents

Non-Arkansas residents will be interviewed by invitation only. The Admissions Committee will meet in mid-December to determine which non-Arkansas resident applicants will be invited for faculty interviews on January 11, 2025. Non-Arkansas residents invited to interview in January will be notified by the end of December.

The College of Medicine reserves the right to perform a criminal background check on all applicants accepted for admission.

MCAT registration and test dates are posted on the MCAT website.
