Admissions Timeline for 2026 Applicants

Note: The UAMS College of Medicine will be extending invitations to interview and offering early acceptance decisions on a rolling basis for 2026. This is a change from previous years. Deadlines noted below are the final date when certain documents are accepted. However, applicants who finalize their submissions sooner will be evaluated at that time and will have the opportunity to move forward through the process earlier.

May 27, 2025

Applicants may begin to submit their AMCAS web-application to AAMC. During the months that follow, AMCAS will send the VERIFIED AMCAS application to the College of Medicine. Applicants who meet the minimum MCAT threshold, 500 for Arkansas residents and 505 for non-Arkansas residents, will be invited to complete the UAMS secondary application and invited to interview at one of several Interview Day options.

September 27, 2025

Our earliest option for in-person interviews in Little Rock. Interview Days will be offered throughout fall and through January 2026. Interview Day registration options will be extended by invitation only via email through AMCAS. We will offer in-person interviews in Little Rock and Fayetteville, as well as a virtual option.

Virtual interviews are only for out-of-state applicants who can’t travel to be in-person or for those Arkansas applicants who are attending school out-of-state and can’t travel for in-person interviews.

October 2025

The COM Admissions Committee will begin meeting on a rolling basis to consider complete applications and interviews and consider offering early acceptance decisions. The committee will continue to meet periodically throughout the fall.

November 1, 2025

Final deadline for all applicants to submit AMCAS web-application to AMCAS.

November 15, 2025

Deadline for all applicants to submit the UAMS College of Medicine secondary application to the Admissions Office.

Deadline for all non-Arkansas residents advocating “strong ties” to Arkansas to submit a letter to the Admissions Office.

January 15, 2026

Deadline for ALL applicants to submit all documentation to the Admissions Office.

February 28, 2026

On or before this date, we will notify all applicants of their admissions status: Accepted, Alternate List, or Not Accepted.

Background Checks

The College of Medicine reserves the right to perform a criminal background check on all applicants accepted for admission.
