Secluded and peaceful on the edge of the Mississippi Delta, Ashley County is the home of the small towns of Crossett and Hamburg. Crossett’s own PRCA Rodeo, Hamburg’s World-Famous Armadillo Festival in May, and the award-winning Finney Christmas Light Display are perfect examples of our thriving local spirit. Crossett was awarded Volunteer Community of the Year in 2023, spotlighting the community belief that everyone has a place to thrive in our small town.

We are a popular area for fishing, hunting, camping, and almost anything outdoors including two great locations for getting out in nature, Felthensal National Wildlife Refuge Overflow National Wildlife Refuge. We also have a city park with a three-mile walking path in the center of town.

Just seven miles from the Louisiana border, Ashley County residents also enjoy some of the perks of the Cajun and Creole lifestyle associated with the state of Louisiana. The cities of Monroe/West Monroe, Louisiana are home to Mardi Gras parades, chefs featured on Food Network, and alligator hunters seen on Swamp People.
