Ashley County Medical Center
Ashley County Medical Center (ACMC) has served Ashley County for over 100 years as a community-owned, locally governed, non-profit health care system located in south Arkansas, serving the southeastern region of Arkansas and the northeastern region of Louisiana. A new facility was constructed in 1998, a 25-bed critical access hospital uncommonly equipped for a community of this size. The hospital hosts a state-of-the-art radiology suite, including a 640 slice CT scanner, MRI utilizing AI and scanning in half the time of other imaging processors, and 3D digital Mammography unit. The hospital has partnerships throughout the state, including the Arkansas SAVES Stroke program with UAMS, Arkansas Children’s Hospital Nursery Alliance, and was the first in the state to partner with UAMS in the EmPOWERed Birthplace training.
ACMC offers various specialty services such as general surgery, orthopedics, pediatrics, wound care, Hem/Onc, pulmonology, and cardiology in addition to the core services of family medicine.
As a building block of the local community, ACMC chairs the Go Red movement for Ashley County, participates in the local cancer support group Hope for Home, serves the local schools through participation in wellness committees and sports medicine on the sidelines, and serves on many of the local boards and civic organizations. It is the second largest employer in Ashley County and serves the community in patient care and leadership around the community.
