Program Director
Brad Walsh, M.D.
Dr. Brad Walsh graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a Bachelor of Science in 2002 and from the UAMS College of Medicine in 2006. He completed his Family Medicine residency at the UAMS AHEC – Pine Bluff (now known as UAMS South Central) in Pine Bluff, Arkansas in 2009 where he was Chief Resident his final year. He joined the private practice Family Clinic of Ashley County (FCAC) in 2009 where he has been a partner and now serves as the Medical Director.
As a family medicine physician in his hometown, Dr. Walsh understands the importance of being active in the community and serves on the Crossett Rotary Club Board of Directors as well as the Ashley County Boys and Girls Club Board of Directors. Serving in a rural community, he enjoys a tremendous work-life balance and the ability to connect in meaningful ways with his patients.
During his career, Dr. Walsh has served multiple tenures as Chief of Medical Staff at the local hospital, Ashley County Medical Center, and he is a 2024 National Institute for Program Directors Development fellow. His primary focuses are chronic disease management, preventative services for all ages, and procedural services with total patient care in the clinic setting.
In his time away from work, Dr Walsh enjoys fly fishing, boating, and other outdoor pursuits with his friends and family, and attending academic and sporting events for his children.
Associate Program Director
Harvie Marks Attwood, M.D.
Dr. H. Marks Attwood is Associate Program Director and an Associate Professor in the UAMS Department of Family and Preventive Medicine. He is a graduate of the University of Arkansas Pharmacy School in 1975 and went on to graduate from the UAMS College of Medicine in 1981 with his medical degree. He completed his Family Medicine Residency Program at UAMS AHEC – Pine Bluff (now known as UAMS South Central) in 1984. He then became an Associate Professor in Family Medicine, teaching residents in Pine Bluff.
He previously owned his own private practice in Rison, Arkansas which is still in operation serving Cleveland County.
After serving as faculty in Pine Bluff from 1984 through 2007, Dr. Attwood was the family medicine residency program director from 2007 through 2013. He enjoys teaching and mentoring medical residents to become well-rounded family physicians in rural areas to serve their communities.
In his time away, he enjoys outdoor activities in the Natural State and visiting with his grandchildren.
Rural Core Faculty
Benjamin Walsh, M.D.
Dr. Ben Walsh practices in Crossett, Arkansas, at the Family Clinic of Ashley County, where he was a founding partner. He graduated from the UAMS College of Medicine in 1980 and completed his residency at John Peter Smith Family Medicine Residency in Fort Worth, Texas in 1983.
Dr. Walsh returned to his hometown and began his private practice, which is now known as Family Clinic of Ashley County. He chose to practice medicine in a rural community, allowing him to develop deep bonds within the community and retain the relationships developed over a lifetime and career, serving the community of his parents and now his grandchildren.
In his time away from medical care, Dr. Walsh enjoys travel, wine tastings, and his grandchildren’s many events.
Emmanuel Tee, M.D.
Dr. Emmanuel Tee is the lead Hospitalist at the Ashley County Medical Center, the primary rural hospital in the residency program. He graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a Masters in Physical Therapy in 2000 and practiced as a Physical Therapist through 2010. He then graduated from the UAMS College of Medicine in 2010 and completed his residency at UAMS AHEC – Pine Bluff (now known as UAMS South Central) in 2014.
Urban Core Faculty
Wayne Bryant, Jr., M.D.
Dr. Wayne Bryant serves as the lead faculty and site director for the PGY-1 year at UAMS in Little Rock. He is currently the Associate Program Director of the UAMS Little Rock Family Medicine Residency and has been on faculty since 2022. He earned a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree from the University of South Florida before pursuing his medical degree from American University of Antigua. He completed his residency at the UAMS Family Medicine program in Little Rock, Arkansas where he was Chief Resident his final year.
Since joining the UAMS Family Medicine Residency faculty, Dr. Bryant has received the 2023 Excellence in Mentoring Award and is the co-chair/ faculty sponsor for the Walk with a Doc program at UAMS. He is a current 2024 STFM Leadership Through Scholarship recipient. Dr. Bryant’s clinical interests include improving health literacy and health equity for the underserved and historically marginalized communities, along with women’s health, lifestyle medicine, and preventive medicine.
When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his growing family, watching sports, traveling, and playing pool.
