Hours of Operation

  • Weekdays: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Weekends and Holidays: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Note:
The following types of releases from the morgue are only conducted during operating hours:

  • Funeral Homes
  • Coroner
  • Crime Lab
  • Procurement Cases (performed at UAMS only)

Required Forms

  • Autopsy Authorization (UAMS) – PDF
  • Outside UAMS Autopsy Authorization – PDF

Autopsy Reports

  • Preliminary Anatomic Diagnosis (PAD): Available within three working days
  • Final Autopsy Report: Completed approximately two months after the autopsy

Note: The Department of Pathology does not release reports or information directly to families.

Viewing Bodies

The UAMS Morgue does not accommodate body viewings. Families are advised to coordinate with a licensed funeral home or an appropriate facility that can provide a viewing environment.
