Dr. Theodore (Ted) Brown, M.D.

Ted Brown, M.D.

Dr. Brown is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology at UAMS and is the Chief Medical Examiner for the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory located in Little Rock, Arkansas. At UAMS, he serves as the hospital autopsy director.  

He completed his anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, followed by his forensic pathology fellowship at the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner Department in Miami, Florida. After his training, he joined the faculty at the University of Michigan followed by Western Michigan University Homer Stryker, M.D., School of Medicine where he founded a forensic pathology fellowship program.  

Dr. Brown has numerous presentations and publications related to forensic pathology and is looking forward to working with UAMS trainees on similar projects. On the national level, he serves as the Chair of the Membership and Credentials Committee for the National Association of Medical Examiners (NAME), Vice Chair of the Medicolegal Death Investigation Subcommittee for the Organization of Scientific Area Committees (OSAC) for Forensic Science, and Member of the Pathologist Council and Case Reports Forensic Pathology Subcommittee for the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
