The Surgery Research Symposium is intended to highlight current research and provide new information to improve patient care. Sponsored by the College of Medicine Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Research, this event offers a chance to meet researchers and discuss their work. All research and clinical faculty members, postdocs, students, and research staff are encouraged to attend.

Registration is required for all attendees and poster presenters, and closes on February 16, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
Those who submit an abstract must submit their poster by 3:00 p.m. on Monday March 9 for printing through Creative Services. Previously printed posters are eligible for presentation.
Additional Information
All involved in surgical research are welcome to submit an abstract for a poster. However, a poster will only be included in the poster competition if the author team includes a faculty member from the Department of Surgery.
Previously used posters are acceptable. If you need a new poster, you can request one no less than seven work days in advance through the Creative Services website. Posters should not exceed 47″ high by 71″ wide.
By registering to present a poster, you agree that you will be available to set up your poster no later than 7:00 a.m. on March 17, that you can be present the entire time.
