Angela Duncan joined the UAMS Emergency Department staff as a patient care tech in 1989. She then started as a staff nurse in the Emergency Department in 1991 full-time. During this time, she also worked as an as needed basis through-out the hospital in various units including: Orthopedic specialties, neonatal nurseries, labor and delivery, radiology and associate directors of nursing (ADON). In 2001, she returned to obtain her Master’s degree in Nursing and subsequent specialty in Adult Acute Care and transitioned into the Nurse Practitioner role in the Emergency Department. Her roles continue within the Hospital as AHA UAMS training center faculty in ACLS, BLS, and PALS. It is in this capacity, she facilitates the senior medical students training in ACLS (a requirement for graduation). Her interests include International Emergency Medicine, Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner programs, camping and hiking in our beautiful State. Angela has participated in several medical mission trips to Honduras within the last five years. She enjoys helping the under-served population there and strongly encourages others to participate.
