Arkansas Children’s Hospital Cleft Lip and Palate Team led by Larry Hartzell, M.D., was selected for the 2017 Champions for Children Award. The award was presented to the team on October 6.
Recipients of the award exemplify Arkansas Children’s Hospital’s (ACH) values and personality. They must have a record of exceptional performance and devotion to service as demonstrated by cooperation, competence, suggestions, special acts, and leadership. The Cleft Lip and Palate team has a high standard of performance and dedication to the mission of Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
The Cleft Lip and Palate Team at ACH is fully accredited by the American Cleft Palate Association (ACPA) and they provide high-quality, individual service to children with special health care needs. The team was started by world-renowned pediatric otolaryngologist Dr. Robert Siebert who passed down his knowledge to Dr. Larry Hartzell. Dr. Hartzell, director of the Cleft Lip and Palate Program, is an associate professor in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
