The UAMS Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery will be the spotlight host for the 22nd annual Family Medicine Update and will offer a half-day of continuing education on a full range of ENT topics.
The conference will be held Oct. 25-27 at the Jackson T. Stephens Spine & Neurosciences Institute on the campus of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). The event includes 23.25 hours of content for physicians, nurses and pharmacists.
The Department of Otolaryngology will host a series of talks and case presentations on Saturday, Oct. 27. Planned topics include:
- “Swallowing and Voice: Laryngopharyngeal Reflux and More” – Ozlem E. Tulunay-Ugur, M.D.
- “Nose and Sinuses: Allergies, Septal Deviation and Chronic Sinusitis” – Alissa Kanaan, M.D.
- “Facial Fractures: How to Diagnose and Treat and When to Refer” – Jennings R. Boyette, M.D.
- “Kids, Sore Throats, Obstructed Breathing and Tonsillectomy” – Adam Johnson, M.D., Ph.D.
- Case presentation: “The Draining Ear” – Andre Wineland, M.D. and Gresham T. Richter, M.D.
- Case presentation: “The Neck Mass” – Tulunay-Ugur; Emre A. Vural, M.D.; and Mauricio Moreno, M.D.
