Only a few years ago, the Rakhshan family’s lives were turned upside down. Pamela Rakhshan, then 18, was diagnosed with mucoepidermoid carcinoma, a malignant tumor of the trachea. Her father, Chris, brought her to UAMS under the care of James Suen, M.D. Today, Pamela lives a life free of cancer, and Chris Rakhshan established the Pamela Rakhshan Chair in Otolaryngology to honor both his daughter and the doctor who saved her life.
