New Residents 2025-2026
We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve successfully matched three exceptional individuals who will be joining us as PGY-1 Otolaryngology residents for the 2025–2026 academic year.
Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Aaron, Peter, and Denver! We’re excited for the energy, talent, and fresh perspectives they’ll bring to our residency family.
As they prepare to begin this exciting new chapter, we encourage everyone to reach out and help them feel right at home.

Hometown: Okoboji, Iowa
Undergrad: University of Notre Dame
Medical School: University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine
Why I chose UAMS: I chose UAMS because of the reputation for strong surgical training and supportive faculty.
What I like about our program: I like how close and supportive the residents are with each other. I also like how approachable and supportive all of the faculty are both professionally and personally.
What I like about Little Rock: There are lots of great hiking and biking trails in and around Little Rock. I like that there are plenty of different restaurants and entertainment options while still being a convenient and affordable city.

Hometown: Kansas City, Missouri
Undergrad: Pittsburg State University Medical School: University of Missouri – Columbia
Why I chose UAMS: I wanted to train at UAMS because of its culture of excellence and commitment to resident education. There was a strong sense of camaraderie among the faculty and residents on interview day that stood out to me. Additionally, the opportunity to gain cleft palate experience during residency was a unique aspect of the program that further solidified my decision.
What I do in my free time: My main hobby is spending time with my wife and six-month-old daughter. I also love playing pickleball, disc golf, or anything that will get me outdoors and active. My wife and I also love trying new foods and restaurants.
Fun Fact: I worked as a part-time mascot for the Kansas City Chiefs football team throughout undergraduate and medical school.

Hometown: Cabot, Arkansas
Undergrad: Crowder College and University of Arkansas
Medical School: UAMS
Why I chose UAMS: UAMS was my top choice for residency due to the amount and quality of surgical training the residents receive here. I wanted a program that not only prepared me for any fellowship but also made me an extremely competent surgeon out of residency. Besides the training, the comradery displayed between the residents and attendings is second to none.
What I like about Little Rock: I enjoy living in Little Rock for many reasons. I can get anywhere in the city relatively fast with little to no traffic, which is rare for larger cities. I also enjoy the variety of restaurants that you can’t find anywhere else. It is also easy to get to all the great activities Arkansas has to offer like Oaklawn and cheering on the Hogs in Northwest Arkansas.
What I like about our faculty: The faculty at UAMS is committed to fostering a healthy learning environment while also challenging their residents both surgically and medically. The way the attendings interacted with the residents outside the hospital showed they were invested in them personally as well as professionally.
What I do in my free time: In my free time I love to golf, watch sports, and go hunting. I have been a Razorback fan since I was little, and I rarely miss watching or listening to a game if possible. I also love just chilling around the house with my wife and dog.
