Dr. Leung Awarded Seeds of Science Research Award

Justin Leung, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology and Brian Koss, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology have been awarded the 2022 Seeds of Science Research Award.

This project aims to clone the whole genome ORFs (~18,000) into a fluorescent- tagged expression vector and to catalog their expression pattern using a high throughput imaging system. This project will not only develop an expression library on a whole- genome scale but also help us screen and understand the translocation dynamics of proteins in response to radiation in cancer cells. It will be an extremely valuable resource within the UAMS research community and will provide a key piece of infrastructure for the Molecular Cloning and Automated Cell Assays Core.
