Ashini Patel, D.O., MBA, joined the Department of Radiation Oncology residency program in July 2025. She has a unique background in medicine, leadership, and wellness—and she’s bringing all of it to her training at UAMS.
Originally from Texas, Ashini finished her undergraduate degree in just three years at Texas Tech, then stayed to complete an MBA. Before medical school, she used her business skills to run a cryotherapy spa, blending her love of health, science, and entrepreneurship. She went on to attend Nova Southeastern University in Florida for medical school, where she was heavily involved in student government and loved connecting with her classmates and faculty. She completed her transitional year in Hudson, Florida, where she was elected Resident Leader for her strong leadership style and supportive nature.
Ashini has been drawn to medicine from a young age, and radiation oncology was the perfect match: it combines meaningful patient relationships, lifelong learning, and hands-on procedures. She’s especially interested in brachytherapy for its technical skill and immediate impact on patients. She’s excited to grow her interests throughout residency while also helping lead and mentor future applicants.
Outside of the hospital, Ashini is all about balance. She’s a certified yoga sculpt instructor, loves staying active outdoors, and spends her free time cooking up new dishes—if she weren’t a doctor, she’d probably be a personal chef/yoga studio owner.
