Dr. Paula McClain is a dedicated Radiation Oncology resident whose diverse background as a researcher and former middle and high school teacher has shaped her warm and patient-centered approach to care. Her experiences in education taught her the importance of clear communication and compassion, which she now applies to guiding patients through their cancer journey with empathy and understanding.

Dr. McClain’s passion for oncology is deeply personal, rooted in her family’s experiences with cancer treatment. This perspective inspires her to provide the same thoughtful, evidence-based, and compassionate care that she would want for her own loved ones. Her research background equips her with a strong foundation in the latest advancements in cancer treatment, ensuring her patients feel confident in her knowledge and commitment to their care.

As a mentor and lifelong learner, Dr. McClain is dedicated to fostering trust and open communication with her patients, empowering them to feel informed and supported every step of the way. She is deeply grateful for the unwavering support of her husband, whose encouragement has been instrumental in her pursuit of a career dedicated to making a difference in the lives of others.

Outside of work, Dr. McClain enjoys biking, hiking, trying new restaurants, and spoiling her beloved rescue dogs. She believes in the importance of balance and finding joy in life, a philosophy she strives to share with her patients as they navigate their own unique journeys.
