Dr. Maida Ranjbar earned her doctorate in mechanical engineering from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), where her research centered on motion management for lung cancer patients. Her work involved simulating the respiratory process to estimate tumor motion and deformation during radiation treatment, advancing efforts toward MLC-based real-time adaptive radiation treatment of lung cancer.

Dr. Ranjbar completed her medical physics residency at UC San Diego Health, where she gained comprehensive clinical experience and hands-on expertise in rapid plan modeling, adaptive radiation therapy using the Ethos™ platform, and surface-guided radiation therapy.

Driven by a strong commitment to patient care, Dr. Ranjbar is passionate about advancing the integration of adaptive technologies into radiation oncology practice. She works to ensure that patients receive personalized, precise treatments with the hope of improving the outcomes and enhancing cancer patients’ quality of life. Her work aims to foster progress in patient care and training the next generation of healthcare professionals in the field.
