Dr. Lewis Awarded New Practitioner Seed Grant

Dr. Gary Lewis, one of Radiation Oncology’s newest physicians, has been awarded a grant from the American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO).

The New Practitioner Seed Grant award is to help fund the Preop vs Postop SRS trial.

This trial is for patients with brain metastases (cancer from somewhere else that has spread to the brain). These patients often have surgical removal of the cancer in the brain followed by postoperative radiation (specifically, stereotactic radiosurgery [SRS]). The trial is looking at whether moving the SRS component to the preoperative setting is associated with improved outcomes.

Congratulations, Dr. Lewis on this grant!
