Dr. Rob Griffin to Present on Spatially Fractionated Radiation Therapy (SFRT) and GRID for Bulky Tumors

We are excited to announce that Dr. Rob Griffin, a valued member of our department, will be a presenter at the upcoming webinar “Spatially Fractionated Radiation Therapy (SFRT) and GRID for Bulky Tumors – Who, When, How?”

Date: Tuesday, December 10, 2024
Time: 9:00 a.m. PT / 12:00 p.m. ET

In this educational webinar, Dr. Griffin will present on the innovative approach of GRID therapy, a specialized form of SFRT. Unlike traditional radiation therapies, GRID therapy utilizes a non-uniform radiation dose pattern, optimizing the maximum “peak” dose, minimum “valley” dose, and dose pattern to improve treatment response for bulky tumors.

Key Learning Objectives:

  • When? A historical perspective on GRID therapy and early research findings.
  • Who? Patient selection criteria for potential use of GRID therapy with bulky tumors.
  • How? Exploring mechanisms of SFRT/GRID and practical guidance on implementation without additional equipment.

Dr. Griffin’s presentation promises to provide valuable insights into how GRID therapy is advancing the field of radiation oncology.
