Zhixing Wang, Ph.D., joined the Department of Radiation Oncology medical physics residency program in July 2024. He completed his doctorate degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Virginia and earned a certificate in Medical Physics from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Dr. Wang is dedicated to advancing patient care through both clinical practice and research. His background includes the development of rapid MRI acquisition to improve scan efficiency and patient comfort. His current research focuses on utilizing advanced MRI techniques for radiation therapy guidance and the assessment of treatment response in both tumor and normal tissues.

Outside of work, he enjoys exploring nature through landscape photography, snowboarding, hiking, and camping. He is a big fan of National Parks and considers 3:00 AM a perfectly reasonable time to wake up for a sunrise shot – at least in theory.
