G. Lawson Smith, M.D., has joined the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) as a fellowship-trained pain management specialist.
He sees patients at the UAMS Health Pain Clinic in the Jackson T. Stephens Spine & Neurosciences Institute, first floor, 501 Jack Stephens Drive, Little Rock.

The Pain Clinic team treats back pain, arthritis, cancer, complex regional pain syndrome and other forms of chronic pain and offer the latest treatments and technologies. The multidisciplinary team combines the skills of pain management physicians, physical therapists, physiatrists (physicians specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation), neuroradiologists, neurologists, psychologists and neurosurgeons.
Smith also will be an assistant professor with the Interventional Pain Department and is certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine.
Smith completed medical school at UAMS as well as residency, where he was chief resident. In 2019 he became the first multidisciplinary chronic pain fellow at UAMS.
