Teach the Teachers

We believe the best way to spread the ideas of tomorrow is by investing in the teachers of today. Through our Teach the Teacher program, we are training faculty, post-doctoral fellows, and graduate students to teach complex concepts in an accessible way.

We offer expertise on topics like machine learning, data science, statistics, natural language processing, artificial intelligence, microbiomics, genomics, proteomics, and more. We are open to collaborate with anyone with interest across Arkansas, with a special focus on our Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and rural colleges.

Education is one of the areas where the Department of Biomedical Informatics (DBMI) shines. Join our community of trainers, teachers, and teaching assistants by engaging with the Teach the Teacher program in the following ways:

  • Attend one of our workshops
  • Sign up to be a mentee

The Teach the Teacher program will connect mentors and mentees. The training will be structured to provide the mentee with teaching experience while encouraging research collaborations and increasing the chances for extramural funding for both the mentor and mentee.

For more information about how to become a mentee or to be alerted about upcoming workshops, contact Assistant Professor of Biomedical Informatics Michael Robeson, Ph.D., at MRobeson@uams.edu.
