MASH Camp Assistantship Frequently Asked Questions

What is MASH Camp?

Medical Application of Science for Health is a two-week program in which high school students explore health careers.

What will I do as a MASH Camp Assistant?

Students will serve as mentors to camp attendees.  You may be asked to teach basic medical terminology and dissections, help with CPR training, or talk about your medical school experience.

Where are MASH Camps held?

Camps are held in approximately forty locations around the state.  For a full list of locations and camp dates, see the summer opportunities handbook.

Who can participate?

UAMS students who have just completed the M1 year and are in good standing in the COM.

When does the program take place?

June and July of each year.

How many spots are available?

Fifteen students are accepted.  This number may vary depending on available funding.

Is there a stipend?

Yes, students receive $500 for the two-week period.
