Dr. Terry Angtuaco was inducted into the inaugural Fellowship class of the American Association for Women Radiologists (AAWR) at RSNA 2017. The AAWR was founded in 1981 to provide a forum for issues unique to women in radiology and related professions. AAWR sponsors programs that promote opportunities for women, facilitate networking, and provide mentorship for the next generation of women radiologists. While the need for gender diversity in radiology is a current topic of discussion nationally, at UAMS we are fortunate to recruit outstanding women to our training programs each year, and women lead more than half of our divisions and sections. This is in significant measure due to the role model of excellence in clinical care, education, and scholarship Dr. Angtuaco has provided through the years.
Dr. Sally Klein, who was the Diagnostic Radiology Program Director from 1993-2006, was also a charter member of AAWR.
