Where We Work

UAMS

exterior of the UAMS Medical CenterUAMS is Arkansas’ only comprehensive medical university. Featuring a teaching hospital and clinics covering every medical specialty and a staff of more than 1,000 doctors, UAMS is committed to improving the health of Arkansans. Located in Little Rock, Arkansas, the hospital and outpatient clinics were expanded in 2009 and include centers of excellence for medical research and treatment of cancer, eye, spine, aging and psychiatric conditions. Our research and educational programs inspire new knowledge that results in better diagnosis and more advanced patient care.

Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute

Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancert Institute exteriorSince opening the doors in 1989, our Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute has grown to include 22 clinics and centers, with more than 145,000 patient visits per year. We are Arkansas’ only academic cancer center and use a team approach to treatment that addresses the wide range of needs of the patient and his or her family.

Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging

Established through a $28.8 million gift from the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation, the UAMS Institute on Aging recognizes that by the end of the next decade there will be as many retired Americans as there are children, and that the focus of health care must shift from merely keeping people alive longer to making those later years healthier and more productive. The Institute is where the needs of the aging generation are met with the highest standards of service, research, and care currently available.

The Geriatrics faculty has developed a robust and successful clinical program that not only provides superb patient care, but also serves as an ideal laboratory for education and clinical research.

Arkansas Children’s Hospital

Arkansas Children’s HospitalArkansas Children’s Hospital exterior (ACH) is part of the only pediatric medical system in Arkansas and one of the largest freestanding children’s hospitals in the United States, serving kids from birth to age 21. The ACH pediatric health care facility boasts an internationally renowned reputation for medical breakthroughs and intensive treatments, unique surgical procedures and forward-thinking medical research – all dedicated to fulfilling the ACH mission of enhancing, sustaining and restoring children’s health and development.

Arkansas Children’s Northwest

Arkansas Children’s Northwest is the region’s only children’s hospital. Conveniently located off I-49 in Springdale, it offers convenient access to families and visitors. In addition to a full range of pediatric medical services, the hospital provides services and amenities to allow the best outcomes for patients and families.

The John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital

Exterior of the John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans HospitalThe John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital, a flagship Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare provider, is one of the largest and busiest VA medical centers in the country. As part of the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS), the hospital offers a broad spectrum of inpatient and outpatient healthcare services, ranging from disease prevention through primary care, to complex surgical procedures, to extended rehabilitative care. The hospital serves as a teaching facility for more than 1,200 students and residents enrolled in approximately 90 educational affiliates. The system is reaching out to veterans through its Community-Based Outpatient Clinics throughout Arkansas and a Drop-In Treatment Center for homeless veterans in downtown Little Rock. Throughout its rich 81 year history, CAVHS has been widely recognized for excellence in education and research, and – first and foremost – for a tradition of quality and caring for Arkansas veterans.
