Request for Grant Applications:
The UAMS Department of Radiology is committed to fostering a strong culture of research within the department, to promoting innovative and impactful research, and to increasing research productivity and visibility. Thanks to our own long-time faculty member Dr. William C. Culp, an exceptional clinician scientist and now an Emeritus Professor at Radiology and a philanthropist to UAMS, we are launching the 2026 UAMS Department of Radiology Faculty Research Seed Grant Award. This grant opportunity will provide seed funding for our faculty members to conduct and lead independent research and to prepare them for extramural grant applications.
The Faculty Research Grant Award will provide up to $20,000 in direct costs for one year to support research projects within the Department of Radiology. One award is expected to be made. However, funding depends on the quality and budget of the applications and multiple (or no) awards may be made. The awarded project(s) must be conducted and led by a radiology faculty member and must be completed within one year. Within three months of completing the project, at least one manuscript with the faculty member as the senior author must be submitted to a scientific journal. Within one year of completing the project, one extramural grant application with the UAMS Radiology faculty member as the principal investigator must be submitted through UAMS.
